Raft & Soak in Hot Springs!

This is by far a must do rafting trip for all river lovers! The 2 day East Carson River trip naturally flows for 21 miles with mellow Class 2-2+ rapids, making it family friendly! The river is free flowing usually providing us plenty of water for rafting in the Spring, sometimes even into early July!

Enjoy spectacular views while rafting class 2-2+ rapids both days! The wilderness camping gives you full advantage of the natural hot-springs (access from overnight camping area).

Tributary Whitewater Tours/RaftCalifornia.com operates under permit from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and is an equal opportunity service provider.

Day 1 Itinerary

We meet you at 9:30am at the Carson River Resort in Markleville, CA. We will provide you with dry bags for your overnight gear. Please remember to bring tents no larger than 10×10 or rent a camping gear package from us.
  • Trip prep and orientation @ Hangmans Bridge put-in
  • Rafting!
  • Stop for riverside lunch
  • More rafting!
  • Arrive @ camping location and assist with rafting gear / night prep
  • Camp set-up, soaking in the Hot Springs and exploration!!
  • Appetizers and drinks followed by a delicious dinner
  • Campfire hangout / more Hot Springs soaking till bedtime.

Day 2 Itinerary

Coffee & Tea available will be available early in the morning
  • Breakfast in camp
  • Pack up / clean up camp…maybe one more dip in the Hot Springs;)
  • Trip prep and orientation (yes you heard it the day before, but it doesn’t hurt to have a refresher!)
  • Rafting!
  • Stop for riverside lunch (sometimes we just head to take out for lunch, depends on what our clients prefer)
  • More rafting!
  • Take out at BLM Boat Ramp near Gardnerville, NV (We typically use a local shuttle service to store our guests vehicles for the overnight East Carson river rafting trip – so they also return them to the take-out for swift return home). There may be an additional fee of $75+ per vehicle for this service.

Kids ages 4+ are welcome on this river trip. This is a wilderness camping trip and we recommend younger kids have camping and rafting experience prior to participating in this trip.

All participants will be camping in the wild for 3 days, 2 nights. If you are not comfortable with primitive camping please contact us for multiday trips with established camping.

Included for the rafting:

  • PFD (Personal floatation device / aka life jacket)
  • Paddle
  • Helmet
  • Professional raft guide for each raft
  • Shuttles to/from the river as needed

 

Included with this overnight vacation package:

  • 2 nights camping (on river, wilderness style)

  • Dry Bag for your gear

Required Items:

  • Re-usable 20oz or more water bottle (filled with ice water)
  • shoes (no flip flops)
  • sunscreen

 

Suggested Items:

  • sunglasses (with a strap)
  • baseball hat
  • Cell Phone (at your risk, it will sink)

  • Wallets
  • Expensive jewelry

 

FOR CAMPING

  • sleeping bag

  • change of clothes
  • towel
  • tent & sleeping pad (Raft California will also provide)
  • duffel with personal gear that can easily be packed into our large Dry Bag

Travel time is approximately 45 minutes South of South Lake Tahoe, 2.25 hours from Sacramento, and about 4 hours from most Bay Area Locations.
