9 Miles of Rafting!
Auburn, approximately 40 minutes east of Sacramento on Hwy 80, about 3 hours from the Bay area.
Take Hwy I-80 East from Sacramento to Auburn Ravine / Foresthill exit. Turn right at the exit and left at the signal; then right into the Raley’s Supermarket parking lot. Continue around to the back of Raley’s to park. Look for an Adventure Connection vehicle.
Get ready for a great day on the river! We board our river van and head for the river about 45 minutes away. En route your guides will present orientation and safety information. At the river launching site you will receive your river gear including a paddle, a helmet, a lifejacket and a wetsuit. We will launch our boats, practice paddling skills with our guides, and head for the excitement and fun of Slaughter Sluice, Chamberlain Falls and Staircase rapids!
We stop mid-day for a hearty lunch along the river where we have time to enjoy the peace of the remote canyon. The trip continues at a more leisurely pace while still enjoying fun rapids and the awesome granite walls of the wilderness canyon. Our shuttle vehicle will greet us at take-out with beverages for the ride back to your car.
You’ll head for home happy, relaxed and full of memories from a great river trip experience!
We’re confident that you’ll agree with the editors of Sunset Magazine when they chose our whitewater rafting company as having one of the “Ten Best River Trips In the West”!
At the end of the trip you will have the chance to view and purchase photos of your raft running the South Fork—a wonderful reminder of your exciting day with Adventure Connection.
This is the best California river rafting trip for first-time rafters as well as experienced paddlers, families with kids, groups of friends, and company team building outings. Whilst we truly believe that the more time you spend on a river the happier you’ll be…this trip is a gem!
