Raft California’s Response to COVID-19

Dear valued customer,

Since we started running rafting trips in 1978 we have weathered many storms, including droughts, flooding, forest fires and more. 

We understand that the recent news and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation may have caused you to re-think your travel plans and future travel options. Whether you have a trip booked or are planning upcoming travel, we want to assure you that we will do whatever we can to support you.

The Corona-virus (COVID-19) outbreak is a rapidly changing situation from a public health perspective, we are committed to keeping you informed and to taking care of you as a valued Raft California customer.

At this point – we have not had to cancel any rafting trips, but the start to our 2020 season has been delayed to April 25th

For the safety of our guests and employees

Our top priority is everyone’s health and well being. Not only for our customers, but our employees as well. Take confidence in knowing our operations teams are working extra hard to ensure we meet or exceed CDC guidelines. We highly recommend customers everywhere follow the health and travel advice of the CDC and other relevant authorities. 

We as a company have implemented the following additional sanitation procedures:

  • Supplying additional hand sterilizers for “on river” time. 
  • Additional hand sterilizers stations available at our camp (as well as our regular hand washing stations).
  • Gear is cleaned and sanitized between each use.
  • Vehicles are cleaned and sanitized between each use.
  • Daily cleaning and sanitation of all facilities.

Your current booking(s)

If you have an upcoming booking that you need to change or cancel. We have adapted our Cancellation policy to the following for any rafting trips that begin on or before Friday May 15, 2020:

  • For trips cancelled before 30 days of trip start date, the same cancellation policy applies.
  • For trips cancelled within 30 days of trip start date, we will issue a full refund in the form of a Gift Certificate. 

For trips after May 15th our regular Cancellation Policy is still in effect. We are  hoping that travel plans will be unaffected by that time. We will also re-asses our policy if needed. 

If you are planning to make a new booking

If you are planning ahead and want to make a new booking, we are currently accepting new reservations with no deposit needed to hold your space(s). We want to encourage you to plan your trip accordingly without the risk of monetary loss. As the situation improves we will contact you with payment plan information. Trip Insurance

We always encourage our guests to purchase travelers insurance in case of unexpected changes in plans. Our industry is sometimes at the mercy of mother nature and therefore trip options and or availability can change at the last minute. 

At Raft California, we believe it is in challenging times like these that the experience of a river trip is a welcome reprieve. Whether you are planning a river trip now or in the future, our guides are excited to share the many rivers and experiences we offer and look forward to seeing you this upcoming season
