Is the Air Quality Bad?

Air Quality & Rafting Trips

There are many fires raging in Northern California and the smoke is affecting the Sacramento & Lake Tahoe Areas. Most of this smoke is coming from the Caldor Fire just south of our American River locations.

For the most part, the air quality has not been terrible, with AQI’s ranging from 120-160 most days. Our trips have continued to run and we have not cancelled any trips yet due to poor air quality.

We do understand that we all have different limits and therefore we have updated our cancellation policy to accommodate. If our guests cancel a trip even within 24 hours of the meeting time, we will happily offer a credit in the form of a Gift Certificate for the amount paid. These Gift Certificates do not have an expiration date so if you cannot reschedule for this season, you can come back anytime.

Best Websites to Check Air Quality

PurpleAir.com

This is our preferred site to check Air Quality. There are sensors all over the country and we are able to check what the AQI is for our trips on the South Fork American, Middle Fork American, Upper Klamath, Lower Klamath and more.
