What Gear Does Tributary Provide

  • PFD (Personal floatation device / aka life jacket)

  • Professional raft guide for each raft
  • Shuttles to/from the river as needed

 

Included with this overnight vacation package:

  • 2 nights camping (on river, wilderness style)

  • Dry Bag for your gear

What Gear Should I Bring

FOR RAFTING

Required Items:

  • Re-usable 20oz or more water bottle (filled with ice water)
  • shoes (no flip flops)
  • sunscreen

 

Suggested Items:

  • sunglasses (with a strap)
  • baseball hat
  • Cell Phone (at your risk, it will sink)

 

DO NOT BRING:

  • Wallets
  • Expensive jewelry

 

FOR CAMPING

  • sleeping bag
  • pillow
  • flashlight/headlamp
  • change of clothes
  • towel
  • tent & sleeping pad (Raft California will also provide)
  • duffel with personal gear that can easily be packed into our large Dry Bag

Kids ages 5+ are welcome on this river trip. This is a wilderness camping trip and we recommend younger kids have camping and rafting experience prior to participating in this trip.

All participants will be camping in the wild for 3 days, 2 nights. If you are not comfortable with primitive camping please contact us for multiday trips with established camping.

Day 1

  • Meet in Happy Camp, CA
  • Trip prep and orientation/pack
  • Rafting!
  • Stop for riverside lunch around noon
  • More rafting!
  • Arrive @ camping location and assist with rafting gear / night prep (mid afternoon, Location TBD)
  • Camp set-up, and exploration!!
  • Appetizers served typically 5:00pm (ish)
  • Dinner time (around 6:00pm)!
  • Campfire hangout till bedtime

Day 2

  • Awake to sound of the river and the smell of fresh brewed Coffee (Tea also available)
  • Breakfast in camp around 8:00am
  • Pack up / clean up camp after Breakfast
  • Trip prep and orientation (yes you heard it the day before, but it doesn’t hurt to have a refresher)
  • Rafting!
  • Stop for riverside lunch (again around noon)
  • More rafting!
  • Camp set-up, and exploration!!
  • Appetizers around 5:00pm (ish) followed by dinner & riverside/campfire chats

Day 3 

  • Awake again to sounds of the river and the nature surrounding you…as well as fresh brewed Coffee, Teas and other drink options
  • Breakfast in camp around 8:00am
  • Pack up / clean up camp
  • Trip prep and orientation (yes…again!)
  • Rafting!
  • Riverside lunch @ noonish
  • More rafting!
  • Take out around 4:00pm. Pack gear in shuttle van
  • Shuttle ride back to car
  • Fond farewells till next time!

Please note times are an approximation and we may end up running ahead of, or behind schedule…we like to call it “river time”!
