What Gear Does Tributary Provide

Included with this trip:

  • PFD (Personal floatation device / aka life jacket)
  • Paddle
  • Helmet
  • Professional raft guide for each raft
  • Shuttle to/from the Truckee RV Park

What Gear Should I Bring

Required Items:

  • Re-usable 20oz or more water bottle (filled with ice water)
  • shoes (no flip flops)

Suggested Items:

  • sunglasses (with a strap)
  • baseball hat
  • sunscreen
  • Cell Phone (at your risk, it will sink)

DO NOT BRING:

  • Wallets
  • Expensive jewelry
  • Pets
  • Kids ages 10 and up
  • non-swimmers
  • first time rafters
  • Arrive at the Truckee River RV Park
  • Meet and greet your guides and load the shuttle for a quick ride to the put in
  • At put in you will be outfitted with PFD, helmet and paddle, and a safety talk will be given before you get on the river
  • Rafting!
  • Class 2-2+ rapids like Wake Up (AKA Menace Rapid), Airplane Turn and Railroad Rapid (AKA Lower & Upper Rock Garden)
  • Last mile drops into the Floriston Gorge starting with the Class 3+ Jaws rapid. Just around the corner the river drops into a long boulder garden called Pinball Machine. This is followed by the Class 3+ Bronco Ledge and Lower Bronco.
  • At take out the guides load the equipment and we shuttle you back to the meeting location!

Tributary Whitewater Tours has been running rivers since we were first founded in 1978. Since we opened 40+ years ago we have expanded to include Adventure Connection, Mariah Wilderness Expeditions, High Desert River Outfitters, Canyon Outfitters and are the parent company of Raft California and Raft Oregon. While some things have changed over the years, Tributary remains a family-run small business with the same passion for the river and the mission of leading others to experience it.
