American River Camping Specials!
October has proved to be beautiful in Northern California, especially at our South Fork American River Campground in Lotus, CA. Located close to Sacramento, Lake Tahoe and the Bay Area, our camp has showers, flushing toilets and lots of riverfront camping!
We also have private group sites to accommodate larger groups & 4 person Canvas tent rentals for those who don’t have or want to set up their own tent.
Our camp is one of the best on the South Fork American River, with gaming area, upgraded restrooms & outdoor showers.

Bring your own tent:
There is plenty of space at our camp to set up your own tent. Hammocks are also welcome.
4 Person Canvas Tents
We have several Canvas Tents you can rent for that Glamping feeling on the American River. Each is secured to a wood platform with private deck and includes:
- 4 cots with 2″ thick sleeping pads
- 4 chairs & side table on deck
- solar lights that go on automatically at dusk
Private Group Campsite
This site can accommodate up to about 50 campers. Vehicles are not allowed within this site, but you have private shaded parking that is just a 3 minute walk away. This is perfect for large group who are cooking their own meals. There is a concrete pad kitchen area with shade structure and lots of counter space for a buffet. There is a large stainless steel sink (water is potable) for cleaning dishes.
