Itinerary

Get ready for a great day on the river! We board our river van promptly at 8:00 a.m. and head for the river about 45 minutes away. En route your guides will present orientation and safety information. At the river launching site you will receive your river gear including a paddle, a helmet, and a life jacket. We will launch our boats, practice paddling skills with our guides, and head for the excitement and fun of the Tunnel Chute and Kanaka Falls!

We stop mid-day for a delicious lunch along the river where we have time to enjoy the peacefulness of the canyon and its wildlife before paddling through more fun rapids like Chunder and Parallel Parking to finish the day’s run. Our shuttle vehicle will greet us at take-out with cold beverages for the ride back to your car.

You’re ready to head home by around 4:00-5:00 p.m., relaxed and full of memories from a great river trip experience!

Behind Raley’s – 13384 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603

Travel time is approximately 45 minutes from Sacramento, 1 hour from North Lake Tahoe and 2-2.5 hours from the Bay Area.

From Sacramento:

  • Get on I-80 East towards Reno
  • Take exit 121 for Auburn Ravine Rd toward Foresthill
  • Turn right onto Auburn Ravine Rd
  • Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto Lincoln Way
  • Turn right onto Silver Bend Way (past the Raley’s shopping center) and turn right into the rear parking area behind Raley’s, continue UP THE RAMP where you will see our vehicles. You can also access this rear lot by turning into the Raley’s parking lot and turn right, drive around the right end of the building and into the large upper lot.

From Truckee/Reno:

  • Get on I-80 West towards Sacramento
  • Take the Foresthill exit in Auburn
  • Turn left over I-80
  • Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto Lincoln Way
  • Turn right onto Silver Bend Way (past the Raley’s shopping center) and turn right into the rear parking area behind Raley’s, continue UP THE RAMP where you will see our vehicles. You can also access this rear lot by turning into the Raley’s parking lot and turn right, drive around the right end of the building and into the large upper lot.
